This past weekend, the Roger Williams University lacrosse community said goodbye to a combined 17 seniors across the men’s and women’s teams in back-to-back senior night celebrations. Before each game, seniors walked and met with their families on the field with their families as the crowd cheered hugs, and a few tears marking the start of one of their last home contests.

The women’s team beat Wentworth 20–3, thanks to captain Lauren Canata (4 goals), Allie Shamberger (4), and Miranda Hayes (4). Senior captain and defender Grace Rocheleau had the best finish with her first goal of the season and her second as a Hawk.
The men’s team beat Curry College 9–0, thanks to two goals from freshman attack Jacob Parenteau, a strong showing from senior faceoff specialist David Rizzo (8 for 13 on faceoffs), and 10 saves from senior goalie Aaron D’Aversa to keep the shutout.
While the wins were outstanding, the day belonged to the 17 seniors that are saying goodbye to the Bayside turf after this season.
