If you plan on going to Aidens, Common Pub or the Nest, make sure to be extra conscious if you indulge in a drink or two.

On Friday Sept. 29, Vice President John King sent an email to all students notifying them that residents in the downtown Bristol neighborhoods have filed noise complaints due to disruption in the area around the time bars are closing.

Living off campus and/or participating in social activities off campus does not circumvent your responsibility as a member of the Roger Williams University community to abide by the Student Code of Conduct,” King said in his email.

The Bristol Police department contacted the university about the concern and that their would be an increase in law enforcement going forward. They did not say if there was a specific establishment connected to the complaints.

Those participating in the disruption were knocking over trash cans, said Diana Proto, the director of student conduct and conflict resolution

“There was not any police present at the time, no Roger Wiliams students have been identified, its just been general complaints of folks exiting the bars at late hours,” Proto said.
