Casino night at RWU

On Friday, Oct. 21, the Campus Recreation Center Field House was transformed into a large casino for students and family members to enjoy. There were tables set up for Blackjack, Caribbean Poker, and Texas Hold’em, as well as a Dance Dance Revolution game and a photo booth. The Field House was aflutter with activities as families traveled from game to game.

“I’m nervous to mess up the rules because I’ve forgotten some already but it’s fun!” stated

sophomore Aleena Abraham, who was a dealer for the Blackjack table.

Upon entry, each person was given a voucher redeemable for a certain amount of blue and red chips. At the end of the night, the number of chips you had left determined how many tickets you were able to have entered into the raffle. The raffle included great prizes such as a Keurig, a camera, an Apple TV, and much more.

At the end of the night, one father, John Dixon, commented Casino Night was a fun night during a visit to his freshman daughter.

During the games, families and students were encouraged to enjoy free chicken wings, chips with various dips, pizza, and many other delicious finger-foods. Free sodas, water, and mock-tails were also available throughout the night.

All around, the night was a roaring success as prizes were collected and families were ushered upstairs to enjoy the Midnight Madness Pep Rally!
