On Wednesday, Oct. 18, RWU’s Dance and Performance Program, Professor Cathy Nicoli, the Title IX Office, and the Women’s Collective put together a performance called STAND on the library quad. This installation was created to bring awareness to domestic violence and its victims. According to a flyer handed out at the quad, the hour-long process of the performers “going from a prone position to STANDing symbolizes the extensive time it often takes for those touched by violence to extract themselves from its cyclical patterns of physical and mental abuse.” The STAND photo shows senior Erin Saunders and alumni Christina Robson participating in the performance. Robson is working with the dance department as a guest teacher.
