What’s new on Netflix?

There’s nothing like kicking back with a new movie or TV show to unwind. Netflix changes what entertainment it has available for streaming every month, so there are always new options.

Right now, one of the most popular TV shows is “You.” The series is about a bookstore owner who becomes obsessed with a girl and does whatever he can to remove any obstacles from getting in the way of their relationship. Those who have seen the show say it is binge-worthy. It stars Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail and Shay Mitchell.

Another newly added Netflix original is “The Umbrella Academy,” an adaptation of a written work by Gerard Way, the front man for the band My Chemical Romance. The show is about a wealthy man who takes in six kids with superpowers and raises them to save the world. The weird part is they have no idea how the kids were born. They were born suddenly by random women who had no idea that they were pregnant. It is definitely a thriller. Ellen Page and Robert Sheehan are two of the main characters.

On the movie front, Netflix added the comedy-drama, “The Edge of Seventeen.” This film was released in 2016 and stars Hailee Steinfeld, Haley Lu Richardson, Blake Jenner and Woody Harrelson, who many people know from “The Hunger Games” series. This movie is about growing up in high school. It includes the awkwardness, loneliness and new friendships many people experience during their teen years. This film is highly recommended, given its convincing actors and compelling storyline. It’s perfect for a rainy Sunday movie day.

In March, subscribers can expect to see classics like “A Clockwork Orange” and “The Notebook” become available. Viewers can also relive their childhoods with “Spy Kids” or binge new seasons of TV shows like “The Santa Clarita Diet.”

Forbes reported about 52 Netflix original films, series and programs to be available for streaming just in the month of March.
