Fun Facts with President-Designate Miaoulis
Q: What is your favorite thing to cook?
Miaoulis: I’m Greek, so one of my specialties is Mussacal, which is an eggplant, ground beef, tomato and béchamel sauce dish. It’s like a lasagna. My new thing is Indian food, which I’m starting this year, but I cook food from all over the world. I really enjoy it.
Q: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Miaoulis: Uni — that’s sea urchin eggs or rolls. That’s absolutely my favorite one. I don’t think I would survive if I keep eating it every day, but if I could survive, that’s my favorite food.
Q: Favorite flavor of ice cream?
Miaoulis: Dark chocolate.
Q: If you could trade lives with anyone for a day, who would it be?
Miaoulis: Tim Baxter, the chairman of the board. So I know what’s in his head.
Q: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Miaoulis: It depends on how big of a hurry I’m in. Could be 10 minutes, could be a half hour.
Q: What is your dream car?
Miaoulis: I’m not a car person, I’m a boat person. I’m very happy with a good reliable SUV that can pull a boat.
Q: Are you a dog or a cat person?
Miaoulis: Absolutely a dog person, I love dogs. Fletcher, my Golden Retriever, is my big love.
Q: Have you ever dressed Fletcher up for Halloween?
Miaoulis: Of course. The last one he was in a tuxedo.
Q: Where is your happy place/favorite place to be?
Miaoulis: My very favorite place is a tiny island in the Bahamas where I can fish all day and nobody else goes there. I’m not going to tell you where it is because I want it to continue being like that.
Q: What’s one of the things you look forward to starting at RWU?
Miaoulis: My whole life now is Roger Williams, so I’m looking forward to a great start at Roger Williams.
