Sexual assault reported on campus

BRISTOL- Police are investigating an alleged sexual and physical assault that took place at Cedar Hall on the evening of Sept. 8.

No arrests have been made but Bristol Interim Police Chief Brian C. Burke confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

The alleged victim is an RWU student, according to an email sent out Sept. 12 to the RWU community by Vice President of Student Life John King. The email said the suspect was identified and has been barred from campus.

King said that the university administration was notified of the alleged assault on Sept. 9.

The student reportedly met the suspect on Tinder, according to King’s email.

“The Title IX Office at the University continues to support the student and has offered appropriate resources and reporting options both on and off campus,” King wrote.
