At home photo shoot inspiration

Are you stuck inside without any ideas on how to spend your time during quarantine? Why not create your own photo shoot and take new pictures for your profile?

If you’re looking for some photography fun this weekend, here are a few ways to get the perfect shots in the midst of the pandemic.

Get creative with your backdrop

Have a blank wall in your bedroom or living room? That can be a great location to create a solid background. Want to spice things up? Add a tablecloth or curtains to the background for a unique backdrop behind your beautiful pictures.

Add decorations

One unique way to make your photos stand out is to incorporate decorations into your setting. Plants are a natural and aesthetically pleasing addition to any photo. Have a furry friend? Get them involved in your photo shoot — everyone loves seeing pets!

Use props

Looking to get a fun picture or a dramatic shot? Try using props in a couple photos during the shoot. Blankets and other everyday items can make for a comforting and cute addition to any photo you take.

Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Getting the perfect lighting is integral for a successful photo shoot. While at home, make sure to choose a location for your shoot that has the right light (unless, of course, you want to do a few pictures in the shadows for a moody shot). Try using lamps, lighting fixtures and natural lighting to get the best pictures. Hint: Golden hour is the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. If you want a glowing tan, this is the lighting to take your pictures in.

Try on different outfit(s)

A major step to a successful photo shoot is to choose an outfit (or a few). Let your style shine with your pictures and have fun gathering your pieces. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a new outfit you never thought of before.

Grab your camera or phone, follow these tips and you will be ready to take the best pictures ever. Have fun!
