Men’s Tennis at Clark University, Saturday, September 13th 12:00pm
The Hawks have lost four straight to the Clark Cougars, with hopes to break that streak this Saturday. The Hawks will have to travel to Clark University without a single recorded win on the road against the Cougars all time, according to RWU athletics. The Cougars in 2024 went on to have an 8-11 season, getting knocked out in the first round, and in 2023 finished 12-6 with a semifinals appearance. The Hawks have averaged 3.3 points a game against the Cougars all time; Last season, they averaged 5.7 points a game in the regular season. The Hawks will travel to Worcester, MA, for their second matchup this season.
Women’s Tennis vs. Curry College, Tuesday, September 16th 4:00pm
RWU’s women’s tennis team has defeated the Curry Colonels in their last 28 matchups; the Colonels last recorded win against the Hawks was in the 1994-1995 season. Last season for the Hawks they had shutout the Colonels in the regular season 7-0, then after meeting in the first round of the CNE tournament, pitched another shutout, winning 4-0. The Hawks have averaged 7.5 points per game when playing the Colonels. Tuesday will be the first of 10 regular season CNE games this season being played at RWU.
Men’s Soccer at Johnson and Wales University, Saturday, September 20th 12:00pm
RWU’s men’s soccer team in their last two matchups with Johnson and Wales University have fallen short in the result and on the scoring column. This game marks the second CNE matchup for the Hawks of the season. The Hawks have a chance to capture their first win against the Wildcats since 2022. In 2024, the Hawks lost 0-2, and in 2023, they lost 0-1. The Wildcats in each of their last two seasons have had a championship appearance and in 2023 won in their respective conference championship, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC); winning that game 2-0. Overall, The Hawks since 1996 are 9-8 against the Wildcats, only 2-5 when traveling to Johnson and Wales, which is what the Hawks will be doing for their upcoming matchup.
Field Hockey at University of New England, Saturday, September 20th 1:00pm
RWU’s field hockey team will be playing in a rematch against their former CNE championship opponent, the University of New England Nor’easters, in over a week. The Hawks last season defeated the Nor’easters in the regular season 3-0 and in the championship 2-1, to cap off their 16-7 season. The two wins, one in the regular season, one in postseason, are the only two wins ever recorded for the Hawks against the Nor’easters. The Hawks have averaged just under a goal, 0.91 goals to be exact, a game when playing the Nor’easters. The Hawks have a chance to snap their 0-12 record when playing at the University of New England on a Saturday afternoon.
Men’s Soccer vs. Suffolk, Saturday, October 11th 12:00pm
RWU’s men’s soccer team has a chance for a revenge game to get back at the defending CNE champions, the Suffolk Rams. The Hawks lost their conferences championship game from penalty kicks by the Rams. The Hawks have averaged two goals a game when playing the Rams all time while the Rams averaged just under one. The Hawks will be playing in their fifth out of 10th CNE matchups against the Rams, who aim to defend their title, and the Hawks, who will try to keep their undefeated home record alive in this mid-October matchup.
Women’s Soccer vs. Hartford, Saturday, October 18th 12:00pm
RWU’s women’s soccer team will be facing off against the defending CNE champions, the Hartford Hawks. Hartford is coming off a dominant season after blowing through the 2024 CNE playoffs and championship, even through the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship. The Hawks have played Hartford in two matchups, once in 2024, which resulted in a 1-1 tie, and in 2023, losing that one 0-6. The Hawks have a shot to take down the defending champs in their conference, as well as capture their first win against Hartford overall in an end of season matchup.
