Heather Boujoulian, who is currently the Board Chair and Acting President, will now be taking over for the remainder of the spring 2025 semester filling in for our current president, Ioannis Miaoulis, who is currently on medical leave.
In an email that was sent out to all of RWU on February 19th, Heather Boujoulian stated that “As we approach the midpoint of the semester, it is essential for the university to maintain continuity and stability.” In terms of the rest of the semester, Heather understands that a switch of a position in this magnitude may interrupt some ongoing university projects, but she is motivated to keep them moving forward in a positive direction and keep her focus on the key areas that need her input. She plans to communicate with the university community as she has more information to offer, but she urges you to keep President Ioannis Miaoulis in your hearts.
Although it may seem hard to step into a new position rather quickly, Heather Boujoulian has been serving on the Board of Trustees since 2020 and has been an active alum to RWU since she graduated in 1997, so her knowledge within the university and community should not go unrecognized. She became the Chair of the Board of Trustees in late 2024 and leads efforts to enhance RWU’s strategic priorities, in addition to expanding education in any area and fostering leadership.
“Boujoulian, a seasoned leader in real estate and finance, steps into the role with a vision to advance RWU’s mission of delivering innovative, student-centered education that responds to the evolving needs of today’s world.”

Now is the time in which Boujoulian can work closely with the administration, faculty, and students to continue advancing RWU’s vision of providing high-quality education that prepares students to be worldwide citizens and leaders. When Boujoulian first began her work as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Ioannis Miaoulis stated that,
“Heather has been an advocate for RWU and its values for years, and her leadership will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate. She brings a powerful combination of strategic expertise and a deep commitment to social equity, which will help us shape the future of higher education at RWU.”
In addition to this information, be sure to be on the lookout for an updated article on this topic as Nolan Abitabilo, Editor in Chief of The Hawks’ Herald, will have a meeting with Heather Boujoulian to see what the rest of the semester looks like moving forward and what her motives are in the upcoming months.
