Jillian Damiani will be attending Columbia University’s School of the Arts for a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing.

Jillian Damiani will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. While at Roger Williams University, Damiani worked in the English Literature and Creative Writing department as an FIT intern. Her internship involved working with Professor Edward Delaney and the Mount Hope Magazine.

This magazine is student-managed and has received submissions from around the world. The magazine has been very successful and was one of the finalists in Best American Essay for 2019 and 2020. Throughout her time at RWU, Damiani had risen from editorial assistant to senior editor for the nonfiction section of the magazine.

During her sophomore year, she became a student coordinator for Scholars at Risk. She is a member of the Honors Program and the National English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta.

After graduation, Damiani will be attending Columbia University’s School of the Arts and will be working towards her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing. She hopes to work in publishing and participating in art museum internships. Her goal after school is to work in acquisitions in the publishing industry.
