Bristol House of Pizza Review
Looking for a place to eat off-campus with friends or to take a date? Try Bristol House of Pizza, sometimes called BHOP, at 55 State St. This quaint, little restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. It not only has a cozy interior, but it also has a friendly staff who serve their customers with smiles. Because of its humble exterior, it’s easy to walk past, but go inside, sit down and enjoy the array of pizzas, grinders and salads. The appetizers are always a great way to start the night and since the prices range from $3.75-$9.95, one can easily order a variety of food to try out.
If you’re a fan of mozzarella sticks, be sure to buy some on your visit. When they’re hot out of the oven, the satisfying crunch of the fried exterior plus the melting cheese in the middle makes it hard to resist eating more. The chicken wings are also a delicious selection since they don’t make a mess of your hands and face. The wings have been described by one RWU student that they “taste like perfection.” At first extremely hot, the wings’ crunchy taste meets a layer of buttery chicken that leaves one’s mouth watering. Along with the chicken wing appetizers come French fries which have a decent flavor, but it would be better if they were a little more salty.
Now, since Bristol House of Pizza has ‘pizza’ in its name, it’s safe to say that pizza is their specialty. For classic pizza lovers, the cheese pizza tastes very fulfilling with its sweet red sauce and thin layer of cheese. It leaves you feeling full, but not bloated. There is also an assortment of vegetarian options like their veggie pizza which consists of mushrooms, olives, onion, peppers, broccoli, tomatoes and cheese toppings. The broccoli is surprisingly good with the combination of other vegetables and is worth ordering.
So, if you happen to find yourself in Downtown Bristol with the need to eat, check out Bristol House of Pizza. The RWU shuttle drops students off not even a quarter mile away from the restaurant so the walk isn’t far at all. Bristol House of Pizza also delivers, so on cold winter days when you don’t want to leave the comfort of your dorm, order from BHOP. Although the food will taste just as great, you’ll miss out on the cheerful atmosphere of the actual restaurant which is worth taking the time to experience.
