The “Friends” 25th anniversary includes new Ralph Lauren Collection “Could I be wearing any more clothes?”

The classic television sitcom, “Friends,” is undoubtedly timeless. In fact, the show is coming up on its 25th anniversary in the month of September.

It was only appropriate for RWU’s Campus Entertainment Network to center 1, 2, 3 Weekend around the popular show. Emerson College in Boston found another way to celebrate the anniversary, by installing a Central Perk Pop-Up Set at their Cutler Majestic Theatre on Tremont Street.

The show has also been recently proven to decrease anxiety, after MetroNews published an interview with psychologist Marc Hekster. Who would have thought a show would be beneficial to one’s mental health as well as their procrastination habits?

Despite what millennials say about the show having homophobic and fat-shaming jokes, “Friends” is still quoted by many. In fact, it is still so popular to this day that on Sept. 28 and Oct. 2, theaters across the U.S. will also be showing four episodes of the show followed by never-before-seen footage and directors’ cuts.

Just recently, on Sept.18, E! News released that famous fashion designer, Ralph Lauren, is debuting a clothing line. It is inspired by “Rachel Green,” the one and only “Friends” fashion icon played by Jennifer Anniston. The designer is partnering with fashion empire Bloomingdale’s and Warner Bros. to create this already-raved-about clothing line. What’s even more of a coincidence is that the stylish character has worked at Bloomingdale’s and Ralph Lauren in the show!

Although the collection may be a tad pricey, the collection includes Rachel’s famously worn pleated skirts, animal-print jackets, suits and even the skinny leather pants that were once worn by Ross. These may just seem like fall clothing, but Ralph Lauren assures that one can wear the “Friends” collection at any time of the year!

The collection may be a good way to spice up your career wardrobe and “get one of those job things,” famously said by Anniston’s character. This collection inspired by a ‘90s character is also a way to bring back ‘90s regalia, which has made its way back into the spotlight, especially in the summer and fall of 2018.
